Overview

Metabolic Syndrome is a group of conditions that when found in the same person increase the risk of coronary artery disease, stroke and other health conditions. The conditions most closely associated with this syndrome are hypertension, hyperlipidemia, diabetes and obesity. These also happen to be some of the most common chronic care conditions we treat as pharmacists. The goal of this program is to review these conditions and their treatments so as to better understand how they fit into the overall risk picture for metabolic syndrome.

This course is approved by the Florida Board of Pharmacy for 6.0 contact hours to meet requirements pursuant to CHAPTER 64B16-26, Florida Statutes, and Rule 64B16-26.300, Florida Administrative Code.
