The goal of this program is to review these conditions and their treatments so as to better understand how they fit into the overall risk picture for metabolic syndrome.

This 3.0-hour Pharmacy-Based Test and Treat Recertification Course focuses on topics related to point-of-care testing and treatment for minor, non-chronic disease states between pharmacists and physicians in the state of Florida.

This program will provide the pharmacist with a review of thromboembolic risk factors and coagulation disorders. Utilizing current guidelines and recommendations, the learner will be provided with the tools necessary to provide routine management of anticoagulant therapy in outpatient settings.

The purpose of this course is to provide the pharmacist with an overview of motivational interviewing terms and techniques as a communication and counseling approach designed to help patients find their own motivation to make a positive change in their behavior.

This activity will provide an overview of the medications used in the treatment of HIV, current treatment recommendations for initiating HIV drug therapy, and Florida law as it pertains to HIV testing, including: partner notification, privilege to warn, and testing in pregnant women.

This activity will build upon the HIV material covered within the Collaborative Practice Certification Program, introducing PEP guidelines for antiretroviral treatment following potential exposure to HIV. 

This program will review the treatment modalities associated various toxicological emergencies commonly managed in the acute care setting. Content learned will be used to develop patient-specific individualized treatment plans in the context of the toxicological emergencies reviewed in this primer.

This program will provide an overview of kratom’s known pharmacology, chemistry, pharmacokinetics, and use patterns. Given that a majority of kratom users report pre-existing conditions and, in many cases, receive pharmacotherapy, the program will emphasize counseling points to benefit patient care.

Utilizing current guidelines and recommendations, this program will provide the pharmacist with a review of the pathophysiology of diabetes, oral and injectable diabetes medications, and therapeutic plan development. The key concepts will be addressed though case applications.
